THE SPIRITUAL SECRETS OF HAJJ

Pilgrimage is a worship of an extraordinary nature, it is not just a physical worship or a religious one but it is an integrated system (of ibadah or worship) and mini view for human life, from life till death. It is an institution of imaan (faith), physical and spiritual which elevates servants to loftiest position and leads them to paradise (jannah) and houses them next to the righteous.

Pilgrimage has other benefits and aims that are invisible to the common people. It has in it religious benefits and in-depth meanings that can make a person closer to ALLAH Almighty more than himself.

Consecration (Ihraam):

Meanings of discipline and equality. The holy journey of hajj starts with wearing Ihram. It refines man’s trend of power and inspires him with discipline, control and keep him balance.

Circumambulation (tawaaf):

ALLAH Almighty prescribed Tawaaf or circumambulation around the house of ALLAH and makes it a prayer, for all humans to live with the prospects of worship and Prayer and its spirit. That house that ALLAH intended it to be a sign of unity among the people and a holy connection with ALLAH and not its physical importance of walls made up of stones.

Saaee:

For saaee between hills of Safaa and Marwa, it is a significant spiritual point for man to live with feeling aware that his steps should be directed towards good and positive places so that his pursuits will be in superior course, and abstaining from evil thinking and courses.

Arafaat and Mina. The secrets of reflection and meditation:

Mount Arafaat is a granite hill east of Makkah in the plain of Arafaat. Arafaat is a plain about 20 kilometres southeast of makkah Mount Arafat reaches about 70 metres in height and is also well-known as the Mount of Mercy (Jabal ar-Rehmat). According to the Islamic tradition, the hill is the site where the Prophet (PBUH) stood and delivered the last or Farewell Sermon to the Muslims who had accompanied Him for the pilgrimage Hajj.

On the 9th of the Dhu al-Hijjah pilgrims leave to Arafaat from Mina, for the most significant part of the Hajj. The Khutbah of pilgrimage Hajj is narrated and Zuhr namaz and Asar namaz are performed together. The pilgrims spend the entire day on the mountain to dua (supplicate) to ALLAH Almighty to forgive their sins and praying for their strength in the future.

Qurbani or Sacrifices:

ALLAH made the sacrifice a living sign of sacrifice and offer, as epitomized in the history of Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) and Hazrat Ismaeel (AS) both, when both of them surrendered themselves to ALLAH Almighty. This serves as an example that, sacrifice or qurbani is needed in everything that man desires to attain in human life at all times.

MASJID-E-NABVI

Masjid-e-Nabvi was established in 622 CE, after the migration of Prophet (PBUH) from Mecca to Madina. Masjid-e-Nabvi was initially built by Prophet (PBUH) and this mosque is known as Prophet’s mosque. Masjid-e-Nabvi is the greatest mosque in madina, Prophet (PBUH) built Masjid-e-Nabvi close to his home. Masjid-e-Nabvi is the 2nd largest mosque in madina and 2nd holiest place after masjid-e-haram in mecca, many pilgrims from different countries come to visit this mosque.

Prophet (PBUH) enternterd in madina on camel named Qaswa, he stayed with some famous tribes of madina who presented him different places to live but he didn’t accept. He stayed permanently on place where Masjid-e-Nabvi was constructed. Muslims and Prophet (PBUH) followers has a great emotional attachment with this mosque, millions of people perform namaz in this mosque.

Masjid-e-Nabvi was initially very simply built only tree trunks, date branches and sand was used to construct this but it was modified as time passes. Many famous and professional architecture were hired to reconstruct this mosque, now there are many rooms in mosque that are made to meet the increasing number of Prophet (PBUH) followers.

Prophet (PBUH) separated the north side of mosque for the passengers and for the people who want to do rest but unfortunately with new construction pattern this place is removed, now mosque is only use for praying namaz and except of namaz timing the mosque gates are locked. Praying in Masjid-e-Nabvi has a great significance and special reward to believers of islam.

Prophet (PBUH) created a hujra outside the mosque, at that time it was the house of Hazrat Aeysha, this was also the final residential place of Prophet (PBUH). There is a beautiful graveyard located in the south east og masjid-e-nabvi called Janna-tul-Baqi (garden of baqi). Now masjid-e-nabvi is totally changed as it was. Escalators are installed inside the masjid-e-nabvi for pilgrims, 6 huge automatic umbrellas are placed to the out side of masjid-e-nabvi that is used for protecting pilgrims from rain and sun.

Gate for entering in masjid-e-nabvi are separated for ladies and gents, females usually enters through the bab-un-nisa gate. There is a particular time fixes for females to give their salaam to Prophet (PBUH) after i.e. after an of namaz-e-fajr and after nama e-asar but males can give their salam any time. The golden grill is fixed out side the place where our beloved Prophet (PBUH). Masjid-e-nabvi is an example of great interior and quirky model of construction.
