IMPORTANCE OF MOTHER IN ISLAM
Respect and Obedience towards your mother is a very significant duty in Islam. To hurt your mother in any way is the great sin and those who commit this evil sin will be cruelly punished by ALLAH Almighty in the hereafter or maybe even in this world!
ALLAH Almighty loves and cares for us more than anybody else, and He especially loves those people who care and love for others. Likewise, He becomes very angry with those people who hurt or harm other people in any way. Only ALLAH Almighty and his Messenger Prophet (May ALLAH send peace and blessings upon him) love you more than your mother! Only ALLAH Almighty knows what your mother does for you,
ALLAH Almighty sees your mother feeling pain when she tries to give you whatever you want. He sees your mother’s kindness and love. Pleased by your mother’s actions, ALLAH Almighty has given her a very high status and many rewards and virtues.
ALLAH Almighty also sees that many of us are not grateful to our mothers. He sees many of us being disobedient towards mother. Thus, ALLAH Almighty has ordered us to be good and polite towards our mothers; ALLAH Almighty has not advised us but ordered us; we have not any choice; so we have to be good towards our mothers! To encourage us to follow this, ALLAH Almighty has promised jannat (paradise) for those of us who are respectful and obedient towards our mothers.
At the same time, ALLAH Almighty has threatened to severely punish those of us who do not pay attention to our mothers or hurt them in any way. Apart from ALLAH Almighty, nobody knows what our Mother actually does for us.
Reasons to be grateful to your mother
- When you were a child, she spent each and every minute of her life looking after you!
- She only slept when you slept! She just ate after you had eaten!
- She was patient and loved you even when you cried all the night and when you cried all day!
- She taught you how to speak, how to speak, how to eat, she taught you how to live life!
- When you fall sick, she looks after you!
- She always prepared and cooks food for you!
- She buys you anything you ask for!
- She loves you unconditionally!
These are only a few things that our Mothers do for us; they do so much more of which we even do not know about. Though, one thing that your Mother does for you, that no one else in the world does, is that she worries about her child from the bottom of her Heart.
